Kia India Registers Record April Sales with 27,286 Units, Up 16% Growth

Kia India has started the new financial year on a strong note, recording its highest-ever domestic sales in April month . The company sold 27,286 units in April 2026, marking a solid 16% growth compared to 23,623 units sold in April 2025.This impressive performance highlights the brand’s growing popularity among Indian buyers
In all India Kia sold 1,11,611 units, up from 99,199 units during the same period last year, marking a healthy 13% growth.
The growth in April sales was mainly driven by consistent demand for Kia’s popular models like the Kia Seltos, Kia Sonet, and Kia Carens. Kia Seltos continues to lead the brand's top-selling model. Driven by its bold new design, advanced features, and strong 5-star BNCAP safety rating. These models continue to attract buyers with their modern design, feature-rich cabins, Both the Kia Sonet and Kia Seltos recorded around 10,000 units each in April 2026, models like the Kia Syros and Kia Carens also played a major role in Registers Record April Sales

Kia India’s performance is not limited to just one month. The company has also reported steady growth on a yearly basis. Achieving 15 lakh (1.5 million) domestic sales within just seven years . Leading this growth is the Kia Seltos, which alone contributes over 41% of the brand’s total sales, followed by the Kia Sonet at 36% and the Kia Carens at 20%.
Kia’s Big Hybrid Push
Kia India is expected to step into the hybrid space by 2027, possibly with a hybrid version of the Kia Seltos or the 7-seater Kia Sorento. Both are likely to use a 1.5L petrol-based hybrid setup.
Once launched, the Sorento will rival upcoming 7-seater SUVs like the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder, while the Seltos hybrid will compete with the Grand Vitara, Hyryder, and the next-gen Hyundai Creta.
The record-breaking April sales and growth momentum, Kia India continues to strengthen its position in the Indian auto market. If the current trend continues, the brand is likely to see even stronger numbers in the coming months.
