Kia India has launched its new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) finance program for the Kia Carens Clavis EV in India. With this new finance model, the company wants to make electric vehicle ownership more budget-friendly and practical for Indian customers.

The biggest challenge for many EV buyers is the high upfront cost. To solve this issue, Kia India has introduced a system where customers can separately finance the car and the battery. This reduces the initial payment amount and gives buyers more flexibility while purchasing an EV.

Kia India says the Indian EV market is growing quickly because of better charging infrastructure, supportive government policies, and increasing interest in electric mobility. The company believes this new BaaS model can help more people shift towards EVs in the coming years.

Under the new Battery-as-a-Service program, Kia India is offering a dual-loan structure for the Carens Clavis EV. In simple words, the car body and battery will have separate loan accounts. This gives customers better clarity about their ownership costs and makes repayment planning easier.

With this finance model, customers can bring home the Kia Carens Clavis EV with finance options starting from Rs. 51,520. The battery subscription charge starts at Rs. 3.3 per kilometer. Kia says this setup can help reduce the financial pressure that usually comes with buying an electric vehicle, especially for first-time EV buyers.

Kia Partners with Major Banks and Finance Companies

To support the new BaaS program, Kia India has partnered with leading financial institutions including ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Bajaj Finserv. These partnerships will help customers get easier financing options and flexible repayment plans across different cities in India.

Kia is also offering repayment tenures of up to 60 months for the vehicle body and up to 96 months for the battery component. According to the company, this can help lower the monthly financial burden for customers.
