Renault Duster is Back in India — Official Price, Variants and Full Details
The Renault Duster was discontinued in India back in 2022. For a car that practically started the compact SUV wave in this country, that felt like a long goodbye. But today, March 17, 2026, it is officially back.
Renault launched the third-generation Duster in India and announced prices at the event. The new Duster is expected to cost around Rs 10 lakh for the base variant and around Rs 20 lakh for the fully loaded top variant ex-showroom. Deliveries of the turbo-petrol variants begin in April 2026.

This is not the same Duster people remember. The platform is new, the interior is completely different, the technology is a generation ahead — and the design has moved on significantly. Here is everything you need to know.
Why Is This Launch a Big Deal?
The original Duster was a car that changed how Indians thought about SUVs. It was rugged, practical, decently priced and it sold in huge numbers when competitors were few. Then the segment exploded — Creta, Seltos, Nexon, Grand Vitara — and the old Duster started showing its age. Renault pulled it out in 2022.
This time they are coming back with a car that has already been on sale internationally for over a year. The global version has been well received. The India-spec model gets its own design changes, features and powertrain tuning. The pressure is real — this segment is now the most competitive in India — but the Duster at least looks ready for the fight.
What Does the New Duster Look Like?
Up front, it gets new LED headlights with eyebrow-shaped daytime running lights that also double as turn indicators. The grille is finished in gloss black and carries bold DUSTER lettering — unlike the global model which gets the Renault logo. The bumper gets large air intakes, pixel-shaped LED fog lamps and a silver trim running across the lower section.

On the sides, 18-inch black alloy wheels sit in squared wheel arches with thick cladding running along the lower doors. The rear door handles are placed on the C-pillar, which gives the profile a cleaner, unbroken look. Roof rails that carry up to 50kg come fitted as standard. Ground clearance is 212mm.

At the back, the India-spec Duster gets connected LED tail-lights with a light bar and the Renault logo in the centre — a detail the international version does not have. The rear bumper gets the same chunky silver skid plate treatment as the front.

Six colours are on offer — Mountain Green, Stealth Black, Sunset Red, River Blue, Pearl White and Moonlight Silver.

What Engines Does It Get?
Two engines are available at launch. The first is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol making 100hp and 160Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual only. The second is a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol producing 163hp and 280Nm, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Three drive modes come with both engines — Eco, Comfort and Perso. The Perso mode lets you individually configure the steering weight and engine response according to your preference.
The strong-hybrid joins later. It uses a 1.8-litre petrol engine producing 109hp paired with a 49hp electric motor and a 20hp hybrid starter generator. Combined output is 160hp and 172Nm, running through an 8-speed automatic and a 1.4kWh battery pack. This variant is expected around Diwali 2026.
No diesel. No AWD. Renault has been clear about this from the start.
What Do You Get Inside?
The cabin gets a two-tone black and green theme with leatherette upholstery. The dashboard is angular with soft-touch materials and Duster lettering as a design detail. All seats get adjustable headrests, three-point seatbelts and centre armrests for both front and rear passengers.

Features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, 6-way powered and ventilated front seats and 48-colour ambient lighting.
On the safety side, six airbags come as standard along with Level 2 ADAS with 17 features, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, all four disc brakes, TPMS and front and rear parking sensors.
Boot space is 518 litres the largest in the midsize SUV segment right now.
One more thing — Renault is backing the Duster with a 7-year or 1.5 lakh km warranty. which is the best standard warranty package currently on offer in this segment.
