2026 Hyundai Verna Launched in India - Price Starts at Rs 10.98 Lakh
Hyundai has officially launched the updated Verna in India, and the midsize sedan comes with some genuinely useful upgrades this time. Prices range from Rs 10.98 lakh to Rs 18.25 lakh, ex-showroom. making it one of the most feature-packed sedans you can buy at this price point right now.
This is not a full generation change — it is a facelift. But the additions Hyundai has made are the kind that actually matter to a real buyer. Let us break it all down.
What Has Changed on the Outside?
The 2026 Verna gets a sharper look up front without going overboard. The front gets a redesigned bumper, a larger grille flanked by dual LED projector headlamps, and a new set of 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The full-width LED light bar at the front has been carried over but looks slightly thicker and bolder than before.
At the back, the rear bumper now gets an integrated diffuser element with a silver insert, which gives it a sportier finish.
Two new colour options have also been added — Classy Blue and Titan Grey with a matte finish — while existing shades like Starry Night, Atlas White, and Titanium Black continue. If you want a dual-tone black roof, that option is available only with Atlas White.

Inside — The Boss Mode Is the Star
Step inside and the cabin feels familiar but noticeably more premium. The biggest new addition is the Boss mode for the front passenger seat. Boss mode allows the rear passenger to adjust the front seat for more legroom. — something you usually only see in luxury cars. If you often travel with family in the back, this is genuinely useful.

The driver's seat gets an 8-way power adjustment with a memory function and a welcome retract feature, while the front passenger seat gets 4-way electric adjustment along with a first-in-segment electric walk-in device.
There is also a new 3-spoke steering wheel with the Morse code 'H' logo the same design seen on the Ioniq 5 and Creta Electric, which gives it a connected, modern feel.
The screens — a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen — have been carried over from the previous model. Hyundai has not upgraded to the larger dual 12.3-inch displays seen in the new Venue, but that is a platform limitation rather than a cost-cutting move.
Other comfort features on offer include a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, Bose 8-speaker sound system, ventilated front seats, and rear window sun blinds.
Safety — Segment First with 7 Airbags
This is where the 2026 Verna genuinely stands out from its rivals. The updated Verna comes with more than 75 advanced safety features, including Level 2 ADAS, 7 airbags, and a built-in dashcam.
Other segment-first safety features include a rear window sunshade, a smart trunk with over 528 litres of capacity, and a memory function for the driver seat with a welcome feature.
The Level 2 ADAS suite includes Hill Start Assist, ESC, electronic parking brake, rain-sensing wipers, and a 360-degree camera.
Engine Options — Same as Before, and That Is Fine
Hyundai has not changed the engines, which is completely fine because both options were already solid performers.
The Verna continues with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine making 115hp and 144Nm, and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol making 160hp and 253Nm. Both come with a 6-speed manual as standard. The NA engine also gets a CVT option, while the turbo gets a 7-speed DCT automatic.
The turbo-petrol with the DCT is still the most fun version to drive — quick, refined, and very capable on the highway. The NA with CVT is the sensible pick for city driving and better fuel efficiency.
The 2026 Hyundai Verna comes loaded with features that were previously only seen in cars costing much more — 7 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, Boss mode, 360-degree camera, and a built-in dashcam all in one package. Bookings are already open across India and deliveries are expected to begin by end of March 2026.
