Mumbai, June 11, 2026: Skoda Auto India has announced the launch of the all-new Kodiaq RS for the Indian market. The new performance SUV will expand the brand’s RS line-up in the country, with bookings set to open from June 22, 2026.

The Kodiaq RS carries forward Skoda’s rich RS heritage of more than 50 years along with over 125 years of motorsport history. With this new model, the company aims to offer a mix of performance, comfort, practicality and all-terrain capability in a premium SUV package.

India’s First RS-Badged Seven-Seater SUV

A major highlight of the new Kodiaq RS is that it will be the first seven-seater Skoda in India to wear the famous RS badge. The company has also confirmed that it will be the quickest Skoda model available in the Indian market. The SUV is aimed at buyers who want sporty performance without giving up on space and everyday practicality. It comes with a three-row seating layout and a 4x4 drivetrain, making it suitable for both family use and long-distance travel.

What Does The RS Badge Stand For?

RS stands for Rally Sport and has been a part of Skoda’s performance-focused models for more than five decades. Around the world, RS models are known for offering a more exciting driving experience, sharper handling and a sportier character than regular variants.

In India, the RS badge has built a strong fan following over the years, especially because of the popularity of the Octavia RS. Skoda said that the latest Octavia RS sold out within just 20 minutes of launch, showing the strong demand for performance-oriented cars among enthusiasts.

Skoda Showcases Its Motorsport Legacy

The new Kodiaq RS also highlights Skoda’s long connection with motorsport. Recently, the brand’s entire India line-up, including the Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, Kodiaq and Octavia RS, set an India and Asia Book of Records title for the ‘Fastest Multi-Car Relay of a Single Manufacturer on a Circuit’.

The five vehicles completed the challenge in a combined time of 12 minutes and 30.97 seconds at the CoASTT circuit in Coimbatore. This achievement was part of Skoda’s ‘Greatest On A Track Is A Skoda On A Track’ campaign, which focused on showcasing the performance and engineering strengths of its vehicles.
