BMW Alpina 7 Series V8 Sedan Coming In 2027
It will slot between the 7 Series and Rolls-Royce Ghost, and it is arriving in 2027 without any electrification.

First new-era BMW Alpina 2027 model will be based on the 7 Series
Comes with V8 engine with no electrification- a rare move in today's market
It Will priorities comfort over outright performance
BMW confirmed the first Alpina model under its ownership will be a full-size luxury sedan based on the 7 Series, scheduled to arrive sometime in 2027. It will carry a V8 engine and serve as a spiritual successor to the BMW Alpina B7, which was last sold in 2022. BMW says the car will be "unmistakably BMW Alpina," hinting that it will not simply be a rebadged 7 Series but a genuinely distinct product with its own character and tuning philosophy.
A V8 With Well Over 500hp

The upcoming sedan will use a turbocharged 4.4-litre V8, and BMW has already confirmed that an M Performance variant of this engine is coming in 2027 for the updated 7 Series as well. The old 760i produced 536hp from the same basic unit, and the new Alpina version is expected to go beyond that figure. As with older BMW Alpina models 2026 and beyond, the engine will be uniquely tuned to deliver the signature Alpina exhaust note — rich and deep at low revs, sonorous at high speed. No hybrid assistance, no electrification. Just a pure V8.
Comfort Over Performance
This new Alpina 7 Series will not be a performance car in the traditional sense. That role belongs to the upcoming M760. Instead, the Alpina will focus on delivering a more supple and refined driving experience, featuring an exclusive Comfort+ suspension setting that goes beyond what a standard 7 Series offers. The BMW ALPINA interior is expected to reflect this luxury-first approach, with premium materials, refined finishes and a cabin that leans more towards a Rolls-Royce Ghost than a sport sedan.
Design Inspired by the Vision Concept

The Vision BMW Alpina concept that debuted at the 2026 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este gave the clearest preview yet of where the brand is headed visually. While the concept itself is a one-off coupe design study and may never reach production, some of its design elements are expected to carry over to the production sedan. The concept already adopts the 2027 7 Series dashboard layout, complete with a passenger-side screen, and its overall footprint at 5,200mm suggests it could comfortably pass as a larger, more imposing 7 Series variant. For those tracking the Bmw alpina vision price, no figures have been officially confirmed yet for either the concept or the production model.
Price and India Availability
Official BMW Alpina price details for the new model have not been revealed. Given its positioning between the 7 Series and the Rolls-Royce Ghost, expect it to be priced significantly above the standard 7 Series. For reference, the BMW Alpina XB7 price in international markets sits above $150,000. As for the BMW XB7 Alpina price in India and the new sedan's India launch prospects, nothing has been confirmed but given BMW India's growing appetite for niche luxury products, it would not be surprising to see it arrive here as a CBU.
What Comes Next for Alpina?
The sedan is just the beginning. With the second-generation X7 due in 2027, a new Alpina XB7 successor is also widely expected before the end of the decade. And if BMW plays its cards right, a production version of the dramatic Vision concept coupe could eventually fill the gap left by the discontinued 8 Series Coupe.
All specifications and pricing are based on current reports and are subject to confirmation at the time of official launch.
