2026 Maruti Brezza Facelift — Here Is What Is Actually Changing
The Maruti Brezza does not really need an introduction. It has been India's best-selling compact SUV for years, and the current generation launched in June 2022 has continued that tradition. It is practical, reliable, well-priced and backed by Maruti's service network — which stretches to every corner of the country.

But the segment it sits in has changed a lot in the last two years. Tata Nexon got a full redesign. Hyundai Venue got dual screens and ADAS. Kia Sonet got sharper. Skoda Kylaq arrived and immediately started making noise. Maruti has been watching all of this — and the 2026 Brezza facelift is the response.
Test mules have been spotted multiple times on Indian roads, fully camouflaged, and what they reveal is genuinely interesting.
What the Current Brezza Looks Like — The Starting Point
To understand what is changing, it helps to know exactly where the current car stands.
The Brezza today is built around a 1.5-litre K15C Smart Hybrid petrol engine. In petrol form it makes 103hp and 139Nm. The CNG variant produces 88hp and 121.5Nm. Gearbox options are a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters — the automatic is a notably good unit for city driving.
Mileage is one of the current car's strongest selling points. The ZXi MT returns 19.89 kmpl, the AT returns 19.80 kmpl and the CNG manual manages 25.51 km/kg — all ARAI certified figures that hold up well in real-world usage too.

The top ZXi+ variant today comes with a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electric sunroof, 360-degree camera, Head Up Display, wireless charging dock, rear AC vents with fast-charging USB ports, auto climate control, 6 airbags, ESP and Hill Hold Assist. That is a strong feature list for a car starting at Rs 8.26 lakh.
The facelift takes this base and fixes the few things that buyers have always wished were better.
A 6-Speed Manual Gearbox — Finally
Every Maruti car on sale in India today uses a 5-speed manual. The 2026 Brezza facelift spy shots clearly show a 6-speed gear knob inside the cabin — and that is a genuine first for Maruti in this segment.
A sixth gear makes a real difference on highways. The engine sits at lower rpm at high speeds, the drive feels more relaxed, and fuel efficiency improves on longer runs. It is a change that buyers who regularly use the car on expressways and highways will feel every single time.
The CNG Boot Space Problem Gets Solved
The current Brezza CNG has always had one frustrating issue — the cylinder sits inside the boot, eating into the 328-litre luggage space significantly. For a family using the car as their primary vehicle, this compromise is felt daily.
The facelift spy shots indicate the adoption of an underbody CNG tank layout — the same setup already used on the Maruti Victoris. The cylinder moves under the floor of the car. The boot goes back to its full size. You keep all the fuel cost benefits of CNG without giving up any practicality.
For buyers who cover high city mileage and need a usable boot — this change alone makes the CNG variant a significantly better proposition.
Bigger Screen and Updated Interior
The current 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ is a capable unit but smaller than what rivals now offer. The facelift spy shots point to a 10.1-inch touchscreen — the same size unit already used in the Maruti Victoris.

A digital instrument cluster is also expected to replace the semi-digital setup on the current model. The current car's interior already features a dual-tone black and brown theme with silver accents, flat-bottom steering wheel, ambient lighting on top variants and wireless charging — all of which are expected to carry over.
Additional features expected on the facelift include ventilated front seats and front parking sensors on mid and higher variants — both of which the current model either lacks or offers only through the 360-degree camera on the top trim.
Level 2 ADAS — Expected on Top Variants
The current Brezza has no ADAS. The facelift is widely expected to bring Level 2 ADAS to the lineup — features like automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.

This is expected to be limited to top variants rather than the full range. The exact hardware — cameras and radar — has not been clearly visible in spy shots yet, so whether ADAS arrives at launch or comes in a later update is still not fully confirmed.
What is already confirmed on the current model — 6 airbags across all variants, ESP, Hill Hold Assist, reverse parking camera and sensors — carries forward unchanged.
Refreshed Exterior — Same Shape, Updated Details
The Brezza's boxy SUV silhouette stays. Maruti knows buyers like that shape and there is no reason to change it.

What is updating are the details — slimmer LED projector headlamps with revised DRL signatures, tweaked front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheel designs and a connected LED light bar at the rear. The current model already gets dual LED projectors with DRLs, LED tail lamps and bold geometric alloys — the facelift sharpens these rather than replacing them.
The dual-tone colour options that are popular on the current car — Sizzling Red with Bluish Black roof, Brave Khaki with Arctic White roof, Splendid Silver with Bluish Black roof — are expected to continue with possible new additions.
