Toyota Fortuner Price Hike 2026: SUV Gets Costlier by ₹87,000 in India

If you've been eyeing the Toyota Fortuner as your next SUV, here's something you need to know: the prices just went up again. Toyota India has increased the prices of its popular SUV by up to Rs 87,000 across the entire range, making the premium ladder-frame SUV even more expensive.
Before the hike, the Fortuner was priced between ₹34.16 lakh and ₹49.59 lakh, but now prices range from ₹34.76 lakh to ₹50.46 lakh, depending on the variant—clearly showing a noticeable jump for buyers planning to purchase soon.
The Price Breakdown: Who Gets Hit the Hardest?
The price hike isn't uniform across all variants, which means some buyers will feel the pinch more than others. The range-topping GR-S 4WD AT variant has witnessed the highest increase of Rs 87,000, while the 2.7-litre petrol 2WD AT, 2.8-litre diesel 2WD MT, and Platinum White Pearl editions have received a uniform hike of Rs 60,000.
To put this in perspective, here's how the hikes break down across different variants:
Variant | Before Price | After Price | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|
Petrol 2WD AT | ₹34.16 lakh | ₹34.76 lakh | ₹60,000 |
Diesel 2WD MT | ₹34.80 lakh | ₹35.40 lakh | ₹60,000 |
Diesel 2WD AT | ₹36.96 lakh | ₹37.61 lakh | ₹65,000 |
Diesel 4WD MT | ₹38.68 lakh | ₹39.35 lakh | ₹67,000 |
Legender 4x2 AT | ₹42.17 lakh | ₹42.92 lakh | ₹75,000 |
Legender 4x4 Mild-Hybrid | ₹49.63 lakh | ₹50.46 lakh | ₹83,000 |
GR-S 4WD AT ₹49.59 lakh | ₹49.59 lakh | ₹50.46 lakh | ₹87,000 |
What's the Damage to Your Wallet?
With this revision, the overall price structure has shifted significantly. The Fortuner range now starts at Rs 34.76 lakh (ex-showroom), with the top-spec GR-S 4WD AT variant going up to around Rs 50.46 lakh.
For the Fortuner Legender, prices have also increased, now ranging up to around Rs 44–45 lakh (ex-showroom), keeping it in the premium SUV segment, though not quite in full luxury territory.
Toyota Fortuner Price Hike: Why It's Happening and What It Means
Toyota has increased Toyota Fortuner prices by up to ₹87,000 in 2026 due to rising input costs and global inflation. The addition of mild-hybrid Neo Drive technology, along with features like a 360-degree camera and wireless charging, has further increased production expenses.
Despite the hike, strong demand for the Fortuner continues to give Toyota confidence to raise prices. For buyers, this clearly means prices may rise further in the coming months, and delaying a purchase could lead to higher costs—especially with a next-generation model expected by late 2026 bringing ADAS and more advanced features.
