Citroen eC3 X India Launch

Citroen has released a teaser of the upcoming eC3 X ahead of its launch in India. The updated electric hatchback is expected to get several styling changes, new features and improved equipment while continuing with the same electric powertrain.

The upcoming model is likely to follow Citroen's new naming strategy and carry the "X" suffix, similar to the recently updated C3 X, Aircross X and Basalt X. The teaser image gives us a glimpse of some of the design updates that could be introduced on the electric hatchback.

Refreshed Exterior Design

Exterior Design

Going by the teaser, the Citroen eC3 X is expected to feature a revised front bumper with a more rugged and SUV-like appearance. The updated bumper gets a silver skid-plate style insert that adds a tougher look to the front end.

The electric hatchback is also expected to come with LED daytime running lights, LED fog lamps and newly designed alloy wheels. Citroen may also add integrated turn indicators on the outside rear-view mirrors, bringing the eC3 X in line with the brand's latest models.

Cabin Could Receive New Features

Cabin Could Receive New Features

Inside the cabin, the updated eC3 X is expected to get several new comfort and convenience features. Reports suggest that the model could come with a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and dashboard, automatic climate control and ambient lighting.

Other expected features include cruise control with a speed limiter, fast USB Type-C charging ports, wireless phone charging, keyless entry with push-button start and an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror. Citroen could also offer connected car technology, a digital instrument cluster and improved cabin materials to make the interior feel more premium and feature-rich than before.

Safety Features Expected to Improve

The updated eC3 X is also expected to receive a stronger safety package. Likely features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ABS with EBD and traction control.

Other expected safety features include rear parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, seatbelt reminders for all passengers and speed-sensitive door locks. Higher variants may also offer a 360-degree camera, making parking and low-speed manoeuvres more convenient.

Battery and Range Likely to Remain Unchanged

While Citroen is expected to introduce several updates to the design and feature list, the electric powertrain is likely to remain unchanged.

The current eC3 is powered by a 29.2 kWh battery pack that delivers an ARAI-certified range of up to 320 km on a single charge. The same battery and motor setup is expected to continue in the upcoming eC3 X.

Launch Expected Soon

Citroen has not yet announced the official launch date or pricing details of the eC3 X. However, with the teaser now out, more information is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks. Once launched, the updated Citroen eC3 X will continue to compete in the affordable electric vehicle segment, offering buyers a practical EV with a refreshed design and a longer list of features.
